On September 7, the Peace Brigades International-Honduras Project posted on its Facebook page: “COPINH, an accompanied organization, warns about a new suspension of the David Castillo process after the defence presented a challenge. Now waiting for a response from the Court of Appeals.”

The COPINH alert states: “Hearing against David Castillo, co-author of the murder of #BertaCáceres, suspended. Defence of David Castillo presents a challenge against the court in charge of the case. Once again the process against Castillo is hampered by delaying actions of his defence.”

The Peace Brigades International-Honduras Project began accompanying the Civic Council of Popular and Indigenous Organizations of Honduras (COPINH) in May 2016, three months after the murder of COPINH co-founder Berta Cáceres.
