Peace Brigades International (PBI) exists to support and protect the courageous human rights defenders who stand up for the rights and dignity of their communities because they believe in peace and justice for all. PBI’s international volunteers bring visible support and represent an international spotlight that helps deter violence, allowing defenders to continue their legitimate work without fear.
Our unique model of protective accompaniment adopts a holistic approach to the protection and security of human and environmental rights defenders, encompassing personal, physical, legal, digital and psychological security, as well as advocacy, networking and visibility.
