With the adoption of our latest global strategic plan, we're celebrating a new chapter in Peace Brigades International’s journey. Defending the Future, PBI's Global Strategy launched in 2025, is a vision rooted in solidarity, courage, and the belief that peace is only possible when human rights are protected.
Across the world, human rights defenders are standing up for justice, equality, the environment, and peace — and PBI is walking alongside them. Our new global strategy outlines a shared vision for 2025–2030: to protect those who protect others and to strengthen the global movement.
Building on 40 years of solidarity
Through this new plan, PBI will:

Sustain and scale up our holistic protective accompaniment of defenders, including in new geographies.

Work with allies to enhance deterrence and prevent perpetrators from attacking activists.

Strengthen the global movement by bringing defenders together to share strategies and learnings.

Share our resources, providing defenders with the tools, tactics, and capacity to keep themselves safe and strong.

Strengthen our internal processes, fostering efficiency and promoting care.
