PBI-USA attended the Peace Brigades International General Assembly in Lisbon, Portugal this past November 11-13, 2024.

Often times, the urgency of human rights work can prevent us from thinking about things like branding. Branding tends to be associated more with the business world. However, there is power in good branding. During planning meetings in 2023 and 2024, PBI staff discussed ways to strengthen our global identity and work through a bit of a rebranding and an updated, more unified website. We are excited to share the results of our discussions.

“OUR COMRADE JUAN LOPEZ HAS BEEN MURDERED. Our great friend, colleague and coordinator was murdered as he was leaving the church by men on motorcycles just days after he asked for the resignation of the mayor of Libre Adan Funez for his links with drug traffickers. Our hearts are broken. Our deepest condolences go out to Juan Lopez’s wife and daughters, and to all those who have been hurt in this fight for dignity. We will not rest until there is justice for Juan and our martyrs.”
Twenty-six year old International Solidarity Movement (ISM) activist Ayşenur Ezgi Eygi has been killed in the West Bank.
The International Solidarity Movement has issued a statement that says: “During the weekly demonstration in Beita, Palestine, on the morning of [Friday] September 6th, 2024, the Israeli army intentionally shot and killed an International Solidarity Movement (ISM) human rights activist named Ayşenur Eygi.”
